The Wildcat Marching Band continues its epically inspiring adventure this weekend as they head to retreat at Camp Aldersgate in North Scituate, Rhode Island. Students will meet at NFA Sunday morning and travel by bus to camp. They will return Wednesday afternoon and will present a preview show for parents at about 4:00 p.m.
The 2013 Marching Band seasons swings into full gear tomorrow–Monday, August 12th–as students assemble for the first day of band camp. Camp runs from 12 to 8 p.m. every day this week, except for Wednesday, when camp will end at 6 p.m. to accommodate the mandatory meeting for all parents and students. Pre-season activities continue on August 18-21, when students will travel to retreat at Camp Aldersgate in Rhode Island. In addition, there will be a Booster meeting on Thursday, August 15th at at 7 p.m.
This year’s field show is inspired by music from the Cirque du Soleil show Ka, an epically inspiring adventure.
Members of the Wildcat Marching Band descended on the New London County 4H Camp in Franklin today as the first day of the band’s 2012 retreat got underway. The annual retreat is an event steeped in tradition. Not only does it provide the students the opportunity to practice free from outside distractions, it also allows band members time to get to know one another and form the bonds of friendship that make the band strong.
