An ensemble from the Wildcat Marching Band performed today at Macy’s in the Crystal Mall in Waterford in support of Macy’s annual “Shop for a Cause” fundraising event. The ensemble delighted shoppers as they performed throughout the store.
Macy’s Shop for a Cause provides non-profit organizations, like the Wildcat Band Boosters, to raise funds for their groups. WMB students sold passes that allowed purchasers to save 25% off virtually everything in the store.
Several ensembles representing the Norwich Free Academy instrumental music program will perform in concert this Tuesday, December 11th. The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. and will feature performances from the concert band, orchestra and marching band. Guests are invited to join the band for a reception immediately following the concert. The concert is being held at Kelly Middle School, which is located at 25 Mahan Drive in Norwich.
The Wildcat Band Boosters will be holding a silent auction at the concert. The top prize is a gift package from Mohegan Sun Casino, which includes an overnight stay and a $100 gift certificate for Bobby Flay’s Bar American. Bids will be collected until intermission, and the winner will be announced at the post-concert reception. In addition, the Boosters will be auctioning props from the 2012 field show.
To allow students and parents additional time to sell ads for the Fall Classic Program, the deadline has been extended to Saturday, September 29, 2012.
